The Government of India is planning to rollout GST with effect from July 01, 2017. SAP India is in the midst of making the application GST complaint and expected to provide regular updates from time to time. The businesses have to align and be compliant on April 01, 2017, therefore it is time bound humongous task to be accomplished. This shall be achieved by splitting activities into (1) To make existing SAP Landscape GST compliant (Technical Upgrade), (2) Implementing & Configuring the GST Solution from SAP (Functional Upgrade) and (3) Develop Prototype by Functional Consultants and End-Users to test accuracy and fulfillment of GST requirements. Each activity is time consuming, therefore it is advisable to execute these activities in sequence as mentioned. First activity can start immediately so as to ensure the readiness of SAP landscape.

To make existing SAP landscape GST compliant, it is mandatory for all customers to have Tax Procedure as TAXINN. Refer Note 0002315692 (attached herewith).

Additionally, following is the minimum Support Pack (SP) recommended by SAP vide its Note 1175384 (attached herewith).

Should current SP level be less than SAP recommended one, then current ECC landscape will have to be upgraded accordingly so as to obtain support for any subsequent legal change pertaining to GST for Country version India(CIN).

Please note customer who are using SAP version below  ECC-6.0 like ECC-5, R/3- 4.6  & 4.7 need to do technical upgrade  to ECC-6.0 and customer should be covered under SAP product AMC and Solution Manager with MOPz is installed prior to commencement of SP upgrade.

Subsequently, when SAP releases Notes/patches as per the GST structure finalized by Government by India, then following would be the indicative tasks to be performed then

• Application of Notes/Patches
• Relevant configuration changes
• Functional Testing
